This diagram provides an example of a Life Cycle, that of water. To the left, water falls to earth, as drops from clouds in the sky. This accumulates on earth as water flowing into streams, which in turn flow into progressively bigger rivers. These rivers accumulate in lakes & seas and eventually lose their separate identity in vast oceans. The surface water then evaporates, on the right, and returns to form clouds in the sky. This completes the water cycle. The sun presides steadily over and energises the cycle. This illustrates a fundamental process in creation.
Busy in our everyday lives, we still find time to raise our eyes to the stars and wonder at the magnificence and meaning of creation and at our roles, value and purpose within it. We don’t get instruction manuals on Life at birth. We learn about life by living it. It is a participatory experience of interaction and creative exploration, where we learn from what life reflects back to us.
Science & Spirit are two major paradigms in our modern world. It is now desirable to find a larger framework that integrates them both in a coherent way. Consciousness, as a living reality, provides such a context.
There is much learning, both individually and collectively, and we all learn from the pool of shared experience. We all contribute to this pool, from individual perspectives, and draw from it to broaden and deepen our relationship with life, our own lives and the greater Life we all share.
Organisation
This material was originally organised as a sequence of chapters, in book form. Each chapter forms a webpage on this site. There is a sequence in the chapters / sections, as indicated in the main menu. Following this facilitates understanding, but a lot of the sections can also be read in isolation. Hyper-links for cross-referencing are highlighted in Bold.
Acknowledgment
We are indebted to the achievements of earlier civilisations, cultures and spiritual traditions. There is gratitude to the great thinkers, innovators, scientists spiritual teachers, who have enriched the life experience we now enjoy. Parts of this work draw on the Kathara materials developed by E’Asha Ashayana (Deane), ASaN Micheal Deane, Maryanne Callaway and their supporting group. This is gratefully acknowledged.
The topics in question are very broad and deep. There is so much more that can be explored around any of them. Needless to say, this is a work in progress. Please use what is useful and form your own assessments. This is a time of great intensity and change – in many ways a Turning of Ages, with great potential for development. It is a time that challenges and stretches our perception, to envision new futures and in doing so to create them.
Noel Tobin.
