Consciousness is Creative; Ultimately it is the Source of All Creation
Our everyday lives in physical reality are guided by intelligence derived from experience in normal life. We develop this intelligence by examining physical behaviour in our world. We study cause-effect relationships, in the sciences, to develop a framework of knowledge, to empower our interaction with the world. We can call this Functional Intelligence.
However, the physical reality we experience in 3D exists within a much bigger field of reality. This is the reality of creation derived from a ground state in the pure Existence or Aliveness of Source. This reality extends from the pure integrated Consciousness of Source, to the multiplicity and diversity of expressed Consciousness in such as physical reality. Consciousness is fundamentally creative. Ultimately, it manifests all creation.

This Conscious Creativity carries Intelligence. This is Creative Intelligence. Creative Intelligence partakes in the creation of physical reality. As such, it contributes to Functional Intelligence.
Functional Intelligence makes extensive use of reason, deduction and logic, to identify relationships between cause and effects. Creative Intelligence is different. It entails connecting consciousness, to provide a higher / broader perspective on or deeper insight into situations. This cultivates Intuition.
Intuitive insight can be extremely valuable. Logic and reason can tend to operate with the confines of specific perspectives. Such perspectives may not be sufficiently broad to navigate towards a solution. Intuitive insight can broaden perspective and inspire new approaches.
To quote from the great creative scientist Albert Einstein:
- “I think 99 times and find nothing. I stop thinking, swim in silence, and the truth comes to me.”
- “I did not come to my understanding of the fundamental laws of the universe through my rational mind.”
- “Intellectual has little to do on the path of discovery. There is a leap in consciousness, call it intuition or whatever you want, the solution will come to you, and you don’t know how or why.”
The ideal is a sensible balance between Reason and Intuition, between Functional and Creative Intelligence. Intuition works best when there is a solid knowledge base and deep immersion in a subject to work with. There is then a framework to interpret the insights provided by Intuition more accurately. Also, Functional Intelligence is needed to ground the insight for useful application in our present reality.
Genius is the capacity to reach into the more subtle levels in creation and to ground fresh insights, for use in our shared world. There is a timing element involved in this. There is little point in birthing new insights unless there is some receptivity for them. Such receptivity can call forth the new information. As new information floats into view, several people may connect with it in different ways and assist in birthing it into everyday awareness.
Creative Intelligence also embodies Creativity. This is very important in the Arts. Creative expression provides a framework for Consciousness to greatly enrich Life experience. It can do so, for example, through the medium of sound, in such as music, song, poetry and so on. Creative expression can inspire visual beauty in paintings, graphic arts, films, photography, sculptures, crafts and so on. It can also enrich Life through the creative use of space, for example, in gardening, building architecture, product design, and so on.
Creative Intelligence enlivens Spirit and Inspires Life. It cultivates conscious connection and facilitates expansion and expression of consciousness.
Consciousness is Pervasive in Creation
Consciousness, as Aliveness, is foundational in creation. As such, it underlies all that manifests in creation and is present in some degree to all in creation. It pervades creation. We tend to think only of human consciousness. But this is only one particular expression of consciousness.
There are different types of consciousness, in the sense of aliveness, associated with animals, with plants, with organic forms and so on. Animals tend to have more of a group or herd, i.e. less individual, consciousness. For example, flocks of sheep tend to act in unison and swarms of bees form highly coherent hive eco systems. Starlings can fly in large formations to generate dynamic, coherent and very intricate patterns, in murmurations.

See attached picture, where a large flock of starlings is flying in an accurate formation, to temporarily represent a large bird form. They can disperse quickly and come back into another form.
Trees, flowers, plants and so on have a certain sensitivity and elemental consciousness. Studies indicate that trees can form root (mycorrhizal) networks that share information and nutrients, for communal benefit. Certain plants have shown sensitivity to various types of sound, such as music, and so on. Rocks, crystals, minerals and even planets are believed to have an elemental consciousness.
Creative Intelligence allows us to work with consciousness in all its forms around us. Intuition can effectively step into a higher space or level in creation, to gain a broader view of situations. For example, successful speakers can ‘read’ an audience, sense their receptivity and speak to their focus and interests. Successful politicians can read the mood of a constituency, nation or era and speak to their needs. Successful leaders can ‘read a room’, detect people’s capabilities and interests and motivate towards a desired goal.
Successful businesspeople can read the market, detect trends and sense opportunities for development. Gifted medical doctors and healers can intuitively sense complex conditions in patients, to guide towards accurate diagnosis. The ideal is a balanced combination of intuitive insight, practical knowledge and sound reasoning.
Successful sports people can develop very finely honed skills of situational awareness and mastery of resources. ‘Muscle memory’ plays a significant practical role in many sports. In sports, such as tennis, golf, football and so on, players practice physical reactions and movements to such an extent that the muscles provide the correct response, almost without thinking. Competitive games are played at such a pace that there isn’t sufficient time to think. Repetition of course builds coordination at a physical level. But it also cultivates direct conscious connection and intuitive awareness, which contribute to success.
Also, in team sports the members of a team build a rapport, where they know instinctively where their comrades are and how they will react. The whole becomes greater than the sum of the parts. Visualisation is also important in competitive sports. Players visualise scenarios and pre-program their reactions. People can perform super-human achievements under extreme pressure.
Mental faculties extend beyond the purely physical. Much of our mental activity, including memory, resides in the realm of Soul or Psyche. Hence the science of Psychology. From here it connects with still higher levels in creation, which are increasingly conscious. We are routinely operating in these realms. We are connecting consciousness and utilising creative intelligence much more than we may realise.
Knowledge is a Stepping Stone on the road to Knowing
Knowledge exists within consciousness, as the Information Fields that shape creation. It derives from conscious intent within creation and as a repository of feedback from interactions within projected or objective reality. Pure knowledge is itself conscious at sufficiently high levels in creation. We can access and interact with these Information Fields, by reaching deeper into our own consciousness and its connections.
There is greater integration and unity at progressively higher levels in creation. As we integrate knowledge at higher levels, we come to know this as our own. We come into a state of pure Knowing. Such knowledge and information are not separate from us. There is no need to prove nor argue anything. We are at home in the knowledge. It is an inseparable part of us.
Such Knowing is obviously an ideal state. People can, however, reach this state within themselves on occasion, particularly in fields they are deeply familiar with. It is the basis for creative genius. We have the famous quote from Albert Einstein. When a journalist asked what he would do if his theory of General Relativity was proved wrong in tests, he replied – “Then I would feel sorry for the good Lord. The theory is correct.” His theory has proved correct in all tests.
We each have our own personal relationship with life, with consciousness and ultimately with Source. Likewise we each have our personal relationship with knowledge and knowing. Cultivating this relationship is our own responsibility. While respecting other people’s competencies, our priority is to empower our own knowledge base and knowing, over excessive reliance on external authority. It’s also good not to abuse whatever access we may have, by not imposing unduly on other people’s beliefs or processes.
Vision expands with Range of Consciousness
Vision, in the sense of our capacity for awareness, is intimately related to consciousness. This is more abstract than sensory or physical vision. Our field of cognitive vision is limited by the horizons of our awareness. As we increase our range of embodied consciousness, these horizons expand. We have the analogy of viewing physical scenery. In a low lying area we can see a certain amount. But if we go up a mountain our vision expands, to see a much wider panorama. Going higher still in a helicopter or plane, we can see still further, to encompass a whole region.
Going deeper within, to access higher states within our conscious range, is analogous to going up a mountain. We can encompass a greater range of possibility with our field of vision. We have broader vision. We have an analogy with a manufacturing plant. People working on the production lines are very focused on specific tasks. Supervisors oversee a wider range of activities. The manager or chief executive has to consider and direct all factors affecting the business. This includes strategic issues and orienting the business, to meet future challenges and opportunities.
Vision is very important in orienting our efforts and progress in life. It also motivates and inspires us. Creative Intelligence inspires vision.
Perception is Conditioned by Belief
What we perceive in creation is conditioned by our senses. How we interpret information from our senses is in turn conditioned by our beliefs. We are conditioned from an early age in how to interpret sensory information from our environment. This is generally valuable, as it accelerates our growth and learning to engage effectively with the world around us. However, we also acquire the limitations of the belief systems we are born into.
Information that isn’t consistent with our view of the world tends to be systematically filtered out. Confirmation bias favours information that is consistent with our beliefs and values and avoids that which is not.
As we evolve and gain wider experience in the world and particularly as we expand conscious integration, we come in contact with information that challenges the boundaries of our field of cognition. This challenges us to review our beliefs. This process of balancing past convictions with present realities is hard work. It can take time to adapt and re-orient our perspective.
Our beliefs are like scaffolding that supports our lives. Re-arranging them can be disruptive. But ultimately the process is evolutionary. It expands our perception of reality and deepens our experience in creation. We become increasingly less dependent on beliefs as, we engage more directly with Life in the Present. Ultimately, we move beyond beliefs towards more direct Knowing.
