Creation is a Projected Reality
Our experience of objective reality within creation is of a dynamic, diversified and constantly changing field of perception. How does this emerge from the unified field of pure aliveness and consciousness?
Film projection simulates Life manifesting Objective Reality. Its structure provides an excellent model for exploring the mechanics of creation. The essential elements are illustrated in the attached diagram.
We have a pure clear light projecting from Source. This is encoded with information defining detailed scenarios in the film strip. The imprinted light then impacts on a screen to display the scenario in objective reality, where it can be perceived and interacted with. Each frame projects a static image. But there are incremental changes between successive frames. These changes provide the perception of motion, as the sequence of frames encodes the projecting light. When the sequence of frames moves sufficiently fast, the boundaries between frames are imperceptible. This gives the appearance of smooth motion in a dynamic scene. It projects a coherent story.
In the early stages of film projection, the information frames comprised a sequence of static images on physical film. More recently in electronic projectors, the film is replaced by an electronic screen containing an array of very fine picture elements, i.e. pixels. These pixels are dynamic. They are controlled by electronic circuitry, to create a static image in the array, similar to a frame in a film strip. The light shining through the array projects the image onto a screen. Successive images are programmed into the array to encode motion and project dynamic scenes.
The important point is that the information to encode and project the scenarios resides in the electronic signals. However, the electronic signals are only a medium to facilitate information flow. On their own they do not have sufficient intelligence to create the required information. What is it that provides the required intelligence? Ultimately, it is consciousness.
More modern projection is done using electronic screens. Here again we have a sequence of static images projected as frames on the screen, as illustrated in the diagram. The frames are switched at high frequency, so that incremental changes between them depict motion. The frequency (60 – 120 frames per second) Is such that the interval between frames is not perceptible. Motion and change appears smooth and continuous.
The electronic screen comprises a very large array of tiny pixels. These are switched to depict elements of the picture. Each pixel comprises three sub pixels, one for each of the primary colours – Red, Green & Blue. These primary colours can be combined in varying intensities, to project all the colours we see in creation. The light to project the image into view comes from a background light shining through the pixels for LCD technologies and from light generated within each pixel for LED based technology. But the principles are the same.
The pixels are controlled by electronic signals, to generate the visual reality being projected. The intelligence to generate the images is contained in the signals and pre-exists as information. Screen projection uses different technology. But the fundamental principles are the same as for the film projection mentioned earlier.
This screen projection provides a good analogy for physical reality. Pictures on the screen are quantised. They are built up from a very large array of tiny elements. Likewise all matter and objects in physical reality are built up from large numbers of tiny particles and quanta. The granularity in both space and time is so fine that objects and their motion / change appear smooth and continuous.
There is a high frequency cyclic activity behind each pixel that transfers the information from its source, to control the image being projected. Likewise there is a cyclic activity in the quantum domain to control the particles, to project the material reality being manifested. The pixels are simple in structure and operation but have the flexibility to project an infinite variety and sophistication of visual realities. The sophistication and coherence reside in the information fields.
Also, the pixels are independent of each other, at the level of the screen. Yet they act in a coordinated way to project highly coherent images. This coordination resides at the level of the encoding information, not the screen itself. For example, if a golf ball flies across a screen, the associated pixels on one side of the screen do not coordinate directly with those on the other side. The coordination resides in the projecting information.
This holds significance for Quantum Entanglement, discussed earlier. Quantum particles can be coordinated and entangled without necessarily being in physical relationship. Coordination can arise at the level of deeper information fields in the projection of creation. Also, the incredible order, sophistication and diversity we witness in creation at every level does not need to reside at the level of its fundamental physical particles. It can be projected through the particles from deeper information levels in the creation process.
Furthermore the information that drives modern screen projections often resides in wave form in its earlier stages. For example, TV broadcasts, mobile / smart phone signals and so on are transmitted as waves. These are decoded into digital information, which is used to control the pixels, to project visual realities on our screens. This resembles the wave – particle duality of quantum reality.
Information defines Form
The name ‘in-form-ation’ describes its role. It is that which shapes form. It defines the organisation and structure of what manifests in creation. In itself, it’s an abstract quantity that transcends physical reality, in that it isn’t limited by physical dimensions nor quantified by weight and so on. It can reside at a conceptual level. It can be replicated easily without diminishing its source. It effectively sits in the space between consciousness and material reality.
Creation isn’t about a Universe coming into Existence. It’s about Existence itself coming into Manifestation
Creation and all in it, including universes, is preceded by Existence. Existence as such doesn’t need to be created. Existence has a fundamentally equal relationship with all in creation. The pure essential Existence of anything doesn’t need to be created. It primarily needs to be expressed into form, i.e. manifested in objective reality and thereby experienced and interacted with in the context of creation.
Creation is Source exploring its Nature through the medium of Separation
We experience life in creation, by interacting consciously with the world around us. The experience is drawn back through our senses into our conscious awareness. This Consciousness or Aliveness, this capacity for Presence, interaction and awareness, is the core of our Existence. Our personal Aliveness or Existence derives from the same Existence that underlies all creation. Our personal consciousness derives from the pure eternal consciousness that begets creation. We normally conceive of this pure consciousness, this foundational life field, as Source.
Source is ineffable. It is beyond form, definition, attributes, words, language or description. Like Love, it is a living experience. We come to know it progressively by living the reality. Then there is no need for language nor discussion. Until then we have to feel out and explore the reality with the help of words and concepts, as best we can.
Creation emerges within the universal life field of Source. The pure consciousness of Source isn’t conditioned by creation. There is no ‘where’ in Source; it’s not confined by location. There is no ‘when’; it’s not limited by time. There is no structure in Source; it’s free from separation. Source doesn’t need structure nor attributes associated with it. It is we who need structure, to uphold separation within creation.
As we connect with progressively more expanded consciousness, we’re connecting with the Source of creation and with its flow into manifestation. We become part of the creative process. Essentially, we are creators, helping to create our experiences in creation. There is real power and responsibility in this.
Our personal consciousness in the present derives from and ultimately holds connection to the pure consciousness of Source. Consciousness, in its pure form, is a foundational or Absolute reality, that integrates and animates All. Source is present to all in creation. All in creation can potentially hold connection to Source. This connection unifies all on an equal footing. It potentially brings all into relationship with Source and thereby brings all into relationship with each other. This is the essence of Unity or the Law of One. It also underlies the lovely Indian salutation ‘Namaste’ – The divine in me bows to the divine in you.
Separation obviously exists in creation. Creation arises as an exploration in separation within Source. There are two ways reality can be experienced. Something can be experienced by being it. For example love can be experienced by being love, anger by being angry and so on. Things can also be experienced by standing apart, i.e. separating from them, to view from a distance. For example, we can withdraw from intense situations to get a better perspective and so on. Creation effectively is Source standing apart within itself, to explore and experience its nature from a range of vantage points or perspectives, through the medium of separation.
Creation is a Virtual Reality within Source
Ideas and constructs are projected into separation in creation. Consciousness is also projected into these creations, to explore reality from perspectives in separation. Creation still exists within the wholeness of Source, almost like a ‘virtual’ reality, a ‘what if’ thought experiment or a computer game. It can be regarded as a sub or Relative reality within the Absolute reality of Source.
When we are focused within creation, it’s very real in its own terms. We may regard aspects of creation, for example, time or distance, as illusion or the ancient concept of Maya. But the consequences of actions within creation are very real.
In the larger scheme of things, creation emerges continually, as a projection into separation and a balancing return to wholeness, within Source. In simple terms, we can conceive that pure consciousness brings focus to a particular idea and in doing so creates structure around it. The idea individuates, by way of seeing itself as separate, within Source. This initiates a phasing process, into and out of polarity and interaction. This polarity phasing process is illustrated in the attached animation.
Unity projects Polarity within a Trinity
The primary creative impulse is coming from the Unity of pure Consciousness. It is beginning a projection into separation, as a first step in manifesting a separate identity within Source. From a Source perspective it is still highly integrated in Unity. But from its own perspective it is beginning to see itself as a separate entity, on a journey of exploration.
The first phasing emerges, as Pure Consciousness focuses attention on a particular theme and in doing so creates structure around it. This structure carries the desire and intention to explore this idea, by projecting it as a manifest reality that can be experienced within its own possibility and nature. This primary projection is still very abstract, pure and non-polarised or neutral. But it is also very creative and powerful.
The embedded intention (including information) is replicated, as a second phasing within the first. It’s as if the first phasing stays ‘at home’, to preserve the Source connection and return path, while the second goes out into creation, to explore, interact and experience. These two expressions now form a Duality.
The second phasing then polarises into two opposite expressions of the original theme. These draw apart creating separation, difference and diversity. This allows for interaction between them. We now have a Trinity of states – a neutral parent state and two derived polarised child states.
There are various names for these states. In general terms they can be – neutral, positive and negative. Here negative doesn’t necessarily mean bad. It’s just an opposite polarity, like the negative pole of a battery, or a negative balance in an account and so on. In ancient Indian philosophy they were called – Sattva (balance), Rajas (active / projective principle) and Tamas (receptive / containing principle). In still more ancient Kathara terms they are also called – ManU, ManA and EirA. In more physical terms they can be – pre-matter, matter and anti-matter. The two polarities relate to all polarised states, e.g. male / female, electric / magnetic and so on.
The interaction of the two polarised states then creates the phenomenal experience, through which all aspects can be explored. We have an analogy with the + & – poles of a battery providing electricity to power electrical processes.
Polarity Resolution / Dissolution
In its natural state, polarity is a dynamic process. Once it has completed its projection and interaction phases, it engages a return process, to reverse the cycle and re-integrate back to its origins and ultimately Source. The two polarities (violet & yellow balls in diagram) come together again. They enter into a balancing space held by its parent neutral state (blue ball).
Here the two polarities resolve their differences to the extent possible and release the boundaries that separate them.
Structures are released and the animating consciousness merges back into its parent neutral state. Once this process completes, the neutral state itself returns all its consciousness back to integration in its parent state and ultimately to the wholeness of Source. This Resolution process completes the Polarity cycle.
Elements of the polarised states that cannot be balanced and neutralised in the natural Resolution process above are released to a separate process of Dissolution. This is illustrated by the downward pointing red arrow below the word Polarity in the diagram. This process of Dissolution entails incompatible elements beating their structures together. In doing so they progressively fragment the structures. This eventually releases the trapped consciousness, for return to Source by a different route, but still a Source return. This is the ‘Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust’ involuntary return. It’s also known as entropy (progression towards disorder), or as the ‘Way of Kali’.
Where polarities get isolated from their neutral parent state, they cannot complete their natural phasing process. They can become stuck in ‘phase-locked’ states. The worst possible outcome would be to be trapped permanently in stuck polarity and associated structures / forms and not be able to return ‘home’. Fortunately, this possibility is not sustained. The Law of Entropy takes over to progressively fragment and dissolve such structures. Trapped consciousness is thereby released for eventual return home. This is less desirable that the natural process of Resolution. But it is still preferable to entrapment.
Polarity is a dynamic process that cycles through a sequence of states, all of which are important. The neutral parent state hosts the process and holds the space for natural Resolution. If we look at polarity ‘horizontally’ within creation, we just see the two opposing polarity elements, similar to a duality. This is what we see in the Yin-Yang symbol, for example.
However, the neutral third element is key to the creation of polarity and more significantly to its resolution. This illustrates the importance of the Trinity as a more complete representation of the process. This phasing process is fundamental to all polarities. Bringing polarities into balance in the neutral parent state is the key to resolving polarity. More generally, it is also an excellent basis for resolving conflict.
Progressive Polarisation
The two polarised states at this stage are still highly conscious. Each in turn becomes a neutral parent for a further projection into duality and polarity. This cycle of progressive polarisation repeats through many further stages, as illustrated in the attached diagram. The diagram itself is two dimensional, for simplicity, while the process in reality is multi-dimensional. This provides for an infinite degree of diversification and expression.
Each state can be polarised in relation to the parent that produced it. In turn it can also be a neutral parent in relation to the states it projects. This resembles the situation where a person can be both a child in relation to its parents and a parent in relation to his or her own children. All three states are represented in every stage of the process. There is progressive increase in numbers, diversity and density (from abstract to concrete) down through the sequence of polarisation. There is repeated scaling by 2.
The return phase of the cycle then draws these polarities back into balance and depolarisation for primary neutral resolution and integration. The neutral state then resolves into Source return. What can’t be harmonised is released for Dissolution return, by the way of entropy. The lower stages ‘roll up’ into their parent states. These in turn progressively roll up through their higher states, until all can be resolved and integrated back into the wholeness of Source.
Creation is an Exploration of Possibility
Creation is fundamentally a projection of consciousness, from wholeness into separation. Consciousness projects realities it wishes to explore and experience in individual detail.
It brings Focus of attention to particular themes and in doing so creates Structure around them. This structure creates a framework that holds the separation needed to isolate the reality, so that it can be explored and experienced in its own terms.
This framework enshrines the principles for orderly and meaningful expression in creation and for ultimate return to Source.
This order manifests Laws of Nature within the Fields of Separation, for predictable behaviour and meaningful interactions and experience. These provide for a degree of sameness and repeatability. This is represented on the right side of the attached diagram.
The fundamental law is that there is free will to explore possibilities, subject to the Law of Consequence. Consequences support learning from experience and help avoid getting lost in separation. These laws progress down through the various levels in creation. Ideally, they underlie the laws that emerge at our physical level, in our Sciences, in our Societies, in our Justice systems and so on.
The framework of structure is sufficiently open to allow for diversity, creative expression, exploration of possibilities and so on. Structure should not stifle Creativity. There is a balance to be struck between freedom of creative expression and upholding of order, to prevent a descent into chaos. This is the old balance between Cosmos and Chaos. For example, a beautiful dance needs creativity. But it also needs to be choreographed with certain principles, to avoid people crashing into each other in a confusing melee.
Each projection of consciousness into creation carries an individual creative intent, i.e. the possibilities it wishes to explore. This individuates or divides into ever greater detail down through the progressive degrees of separation, through the levels in creation. This individuality is important. It provides diversity or difference in creation, for a greater range of interaction to explore and experience.
Individuality carries Personality, i.e. the unique characteristics by which it is identified. These characteristics are encoded in Personal Encryptions. These express through such as DNA. This is represented on the left side of the attached diagram.
The Intent of individual projections of consciousness into creation also carries an impulse or energy that animates it. This manifests as the Life-Force that animates the bodies or forms it uses in creation. The general impulse to create also provides the energy that powers creation as a whole. This energy becomes increasingly dense down through levels in creation. At certain levels it condenses to form matter. This matter in turn becomes increasingly dense and concrete down through creation.
The interaction of creative expression with structure and order in creation stages the Dance of Life we experience as reality here.
Information Fields encrypt Creation
The Intent to create next envisions what it wishes to manifest in creation. Effectively this is the ‘planning’ phase. It elaborates detail for the scenarios it wishes to explore, for the structures needed to support this and for the forms, objects and so on that will participate in the venture. This detail exists at a conceptual level as Information. It is the recipe, blueprint or encryption that will shape or in-form the projection into objective reality. This information exists as Information Fields in consciousness.
These Information Fields are extremely important. They resemble the signals that encode the information used to project desired images and dynamic realities onto screens for external viewing and interaction, as discussed previously.
We have the framework or structure that supports the process. This acts like the Carrier Wave for a signal. The information is encoded onto the carrier wave to produce a modulated or informed signal. This signal then interacts with a projection field, such as a grid of pixels, a field of quantum particles or so on, to create the desired reality. A Light, energy or Life Force flows through this projection, to animate and broadcast it into objective expression. This is illustrated approximately in the attached diagram.
The objective expression can be viewed and interacted with. We not only stage the dramas in creation. We’re also the audience. We interact with the projected realities, sensing and decoding them, through a reversal of the above process. We bring them back to conscious awareness. The resulting experience is viewed though sensory perception and integrated back through progressively higher states of consciousness towards Source. This completes the cycle of projection into and out of objective reality. It also sets up the next cycle, for an ongoing stream of conscious interaction within creation.
These information fields are referenced in many traditions. In some cases they are referred to as the ‘hall of records’, the ‘akashic records’, the ‘mind of God’, collective memory and so on. They can also be referred to as morphogenetic (shape generating) fields.
These fields derive from consciousness and are quite abstract in their pure form. As they express down through levels in creation, they become progressively more concrete and eventually work through specific structures such as DNA, brain and nerve tissue and so on.
To the extent information fields connect with consciousness, they are ‘alive’. They are dynamic and highly interactive. They not only influence projection into creation, but also receive and record returning experience, perceptions and outcomes and update accordingly. They effectively provide a collective ‘brain’ and ‘memory’ function for creation. In many respects they can be regarded as the ‘software’ in creation.
Consciousness encrypts projection into creation. Information fields hold the encryption for as long as it’s needed. They also preserve the records for the process, for its cycle of manifestation. When the process completes and all is resolved back into integrity, the information and records have served their purpose and can likewise be released.
Creation Cycles generate our Experience of Objective Reality
The process of creative projection into objective reality repeats in a cyclic manner. This is illustrated approximately in the attached diagram. The analogy used is a bit mechanical. But it does help to illustrate significant, if somewhat abstract, processes in a more tangible form.
Consciousness projects intent, which encodes information for a frame of reality. This frame is projected into objective expression, to create a world experience that can be perceived externally and interacted with. The process of conscious projection and experience arises in what we regard as the Present.
Creation Lives in the Present
The Present can be regarded as that portion of time in which we are consciously present. This interaction in the present creates consequences. The consequences and experience feedback into the information frame and modify it. This creates a new frame in the Present projection ‘window’. This in turn is projected into Objective Reality. The process repeats in a cyclic manner, to create a dynamic and interactive world experience.
We also have expectation arising in the objective world experience. This arises from a preference or desire for particular outcomes in the future. This also feeds back into the information fields to influence the present projection and its objective manifestation.
There is infinite possibility for projecting scenarios and realities, depending on what we code into our projections. Consciousness is the animator and director. It’s also the great unifying principle behind the infinite diversity in creation.
This progression of manifestation cycles and their associated information frames creates what we experience as a time sequence or time-line. We have the active Present, in which creation lives. We have the Past and Future, which contain those portions of time, which we don’t yet need to or cannot process in our Present. The Past provides Memory to hold the consequences of creation that still need to be processed to resolution. The Future likewise holds our plans and expectations for how we wish creation scenarios to evolve.
As we expand consciousness our Present likewise expands. It increasingly embraces both our Past and our Future. Our conscious awareness and time horizon progressively expand towards the Eternal Now. Ultimately, it effectively transcends time and limitation, as it progresses towards Source.
Consciousness not only creates the reality we experience, but also enters into the reality, to observe the experience directly and interact with it. Consciousness underlies, animates and experiences creation. We are embedded in the process and experience it all round us. We are diverse points of focus within creation, experiencing it from a range of perspectives.
Consciousness projects in stages corresponding to the range of levels in creation. These levels range from the very free, refined and integrated states close to Source, to the highly diversified, localised, dense and concrete in physical reality. Consciousness at a given level can be experiencing the reality projected from a higher / parent level, while also in turn projecting creation into a lower / child level. There can be a nesting of progressive projections.
Correspondingly, we can have a nesting of time-lines. There can be nesting of time-lines for our progressive conscious projections through levels within creation. We can have a specific time-line for our personal identity in physical embodiment. This can be part of progressively larger time-lines for our families of consciousness at higher levels in creation.
We also integrate with collective time-lines for groups in our normal lives in physical reality. We have time-lines for our immediate family, with its family history and ancestral heritage. Similarly, we have time-lines associated with the groups we participate in – our work groups, the sports teams we play with, the associations we support, our local region and so on. We also share in time-lines of association with such as our nation, our race line, the human race and so on. This sharing of collective time-lines provides us with a shared experience of reality and responsibility in creation. This provides for a significant degree of common experience, subject to personal variations in perspective.
Creation is Holographic
All parts of creation are contained in the whole. The wholeness of Source is present to each part in creation. Each part carries the essence of the whole, as the consciousness that animates and experiences creation. In other words, this is a holographic projection, i.e. the hologram of creation. This differs from the more usual linear sequencing we encounter in physical reality.
From a Source perspective, there is equal relationship with all in creation, from large to small. In other words Source is equally present to all. The nature of relationship with Source is determined by the choices made within creation.
Consciousness is fundamentally holographic. In its pure essential state it is whole and free from separation. In its natural state, consciousness preserves this wholeness in projections, by retaining connection to its essential unity in Source. Natural processes and structures preserve this connection. However, unnatural events and processes can fail to resolve and can trap consciousness in locked structures. This can lead to fragmentation of consciousness, until processes, such as entropy, dissolve such structures.
Creation has Fractal Structure
Fundamental themes, structures and processes are repeated in creation, at many scales from large to small. This is illustrated in the attached diagram. The same pattern is repeated more frequently and at ever smaller scales, down through levels in the diagram. The levels are nested in what is referred to as a fractal structure.
Examples of processes that repeat at ever finer levels include – Polarity. This is fundamentally important in creation and repeats its phasing process continuously, through all levels in creation. Another more mechanical example is the motion of planetary and other such bodies.

Planets spin continuously on their own axis. They also rotate in orbit around the centre of gravity of their family of planetary bodies, which usually coincides with the central sun. This solar system in turn spins and rotates in orbit around the centre of gravity of the collection of solar systems comprising the galaxy. Galaxies also spin and orbit around the centre of their local collection or supercluster of galaxies and so on. A similar pattern arises at the microscopic level of atoms. We have electrons, as particles, both spinning and orbiting round their local centre in the nucleus of the atom. However, there is a more complex quantum reality behind this.
This fractal structure means that we don’t have to go to the macroscopic edges of creation or of time to find the deeper levels and nature of creation. It’s all around us. We can access it by going deeply within, in our here and now.
Balance is Essential in Creation
Source itself is not depleted by flows into and out of creation. It is infinite. However, there needs to be a balance between flows into and out of creation, to ensure that energy, consciousness and so on don’t remain trapped in separation within creation. Fragmentation of consciousness, stuck flows and so on can cause energy and life-force to get trapped in creation. Special processes are needed within creation to release such trapped energies and consciousness. These are discussed under Polarity, earlier in this chapter.
Renewal
So, we can facilitate fresh inflows from higher levels in creation and ultimately from Source by supporting return flows to these levels. This is the Principle of Renewal and the essence of such as Renewable Energy. To re-new we need to release the old. This principle is evident in the behaviour of electricity. For example, for a current to flow it needs to be able to return to its source. It can be stored temporarily in circuit elements, but ultimately it completes a closed circuit.
There is an economy in creation, to balance flows down and up through the various levels. Trying to accumulate or hoard resources at any one level can hinder natural flows and trap energies. There needs to be a balance between Renewal and Release.
Source is the Life that Animates Creation
